Penny was born with a mind that belonged to neither of her parents. She liked to solve puzzles; she was quiet; she was thoughtful; she was adventurous; she was fair. Her parents tried to instill in her their values- of superiority, the importance of wealth, the path of power. Penny didn't like any of these ideas. She tried questioning them. But she realized it was not right to question them, so soon she just nodded and replied, "Yes, mother, yes father."

She was sorted into Ravenclaw, which was an upstart for her parents. They decided, however, that if it couldn't be Slytherin, they could accept Ravenclaw much easier than any other House. Penny thrived here. She immediately made friends on the train with two other students- Allison and Chester. Both brilliant, both muggleborns. She never told her parents of these friends, and when her brother entered school, she pretended they didn't exist when he was near. But they meant the world to her. They brought her muggle gadgets- microchips, broken laptops, cell phones, ipods. Penny took them home and learned to hack, learned to work with them.

During her seventh year, the world was torn apart. Harry Potter took over the Death Eaters, and her father immediately turned their home into the Death Eater Headquarters. Astoria informed Penny that her Hogwarts education was over- while she approved of what they planned to do with Hogwarts, she did not think Penny, who had a tendency to misbehave, would survive very long. Penny was to help with the administrative duties of the Death Eaters.

Penny heard from her best friends what was happening in Hogwarts. Penny could clearly see who was right and who was wrong. She donned the name 'The Raven' and decided to give the Order some help where she could.
