JAQUELLENE EMBER DYLLAN
eighteen | ex Gryffindor | Beater for Falmouth Falcons | Order | Bryce Dallas Howard
Jack never really fit in with her family. Most of them were bigots and were rather ignorant. She has always publicly denounced ties to her family, except with her brother Riley, of whom she used to get along with quite well. At school, she wasn't a bully, but she was suspended a few times for fighting. Her parents were always hard on her and were more like robots than loving parents, and she returned in kind by disconnecting herself from the family. Their early history wasn't thrilling. Both of her parents were British, but her father's company had transferred him to California right after Riley's birth. Jack lived in California until she was two. The family moved to London for six years, and then to Dublin.

She was thrilled when she was accepted into Hogwarts. Her parents took it as a disgrace, though she did not expect much different. Riley was grudgingly happy for her, even though her parents were set against letting her go and he liked to do whatever his parent told him to. They refused to give her money and tried to hide it from the rest of the family, but her eccentric uncle Chip found out. Thrilled for her, he sold one of his many estates and funnels the money into Jack's Gringotts account.

Jack was sorted into Gryffindor after a long deliberation from the Sorting Hat. Immediately, Jack established herself troublemaker in school, using mostly muggle equipment. She nearly rivaled the Weasley twins, though she would never say so, as they were always heroes of hers. Jack performed decently as a student, but was in trouble too much to be an advanced pupil. She rarely turned in homework but soaked up what she learned. Any spell taught was a spell earned. She was looking forward to terrorizing her parents with spells- she didn't learn of laws against magic outside of school until the end of the first year.

Second year brought a new interest. Quidditch took ahold of Jack and she begged her uncle Chip for money for a secondhand broom. With that in hand, she tried each position, finding a natural talent in Beating- not surprising, as she was on an all boy's baseball team in her elementary years. She joined the team that year and it was the start of a life long obsession with Quidditch.

Jack did not make many friends in school. She damaged too many Gryffindor's pride with her pranks; gained the resentment of the studious Ravenclaws who she constantly matched the scores of in examinations; offended the Hufflepuffs who simply wished for peace; and was hated by the muggleborn-hating Slytherins without reserve. Her Quidditch team had some respect for her, as did a few of the more worldly students, but she didn't have a friend until sixth year.

Over the summer before her sixth year, she became acquainted with a poltergeist by the name of Vito. She spent her entire summer away from home and stayed in the Leaky Cauldron- Vito was living in a nearby nightclub, so their paths seemed fated to cross. This relationship was a constant game of bluffs and challenges. Near death was the typical form of good bye. Jack found herself inexplicably bound to this creature. She and him seemingly had a hatred for each other, and yet, the summer was spent almost solely in each other's company. Vito was nasty- rude, vain, and deadly. But they fed off each other, enjoying the terror and anger they struck into each other's hearts. For awhile, they were almost like friends.

Two more of these explainable bonds arose that summer. Jack befriended a Quidditch mate by the name of Andrew, and another girl named Chase. The three became fast friends.

By the end of the summer, Vito had tried to kill all three of them. Poltergeists feed off of hatred, anger, and death, so Vito could not help but try to inspire Jack's hatred and fury by attempting to kill her friends. Jack did the only sensible thing, and refused to have any friends.

Jack distanced herself in this troubling time from contact with her friends. During this time, her brother Riley withdrew, finding her distance during holidays unacceptable, and her uncle Chip disappeared to outrun the loan sharks. Jack threw herself into Quidditch. There were few people she could consider a friend - James Potter, a fellow Quidditch mate who shared her sense of humor, proved to be good company ; James Wake provided to be a clever ally in her younger years that would have been helpful in this time of solitude.

Jack graduated. Her graduation gift from Vito was the attempted murder of her friend Chase. Jack had no choice. Before Vito could kill Chase, Jack killed Vito.

Chase and Jack were reunited, but it was awkward. Not until her birthday in July did she have a seemingly normal day with Chase. Jack and James were still in contact- they had both been taken on by the Falmouth Falcons. All seemed to finally be pointing in the right direction, even if Jack was haunted by the thing she had had no choice but to do.
