Puff's Outlaws
Ages 13 – 16 | Hufflepuff | Raising A Ruckus | Puff's Outlaws | Tye

Lead by Desdemona “Puff” Vittersly, Puff's Outlaws are a gang of Hufflepuffs that, for maybe the first time in the history of Hufflepuff, mean serious business. That's what the Outlaws claim, anyway. In reality, they're party animals with their own take on the Sorting Hat's claim that:

"You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil."

Gone are the days of the cozy, earthy, homey Hufflepuff common room. Thanks to Puff and her Outlaws, it's had a little facelift. The walls are dark, the windows have been enchanted so that the sunlight coming through them becomes either blacklight or a crazy mix of colors. There are posters on the ceiling that say things like “RIOT NOT QUIET!” and “RIOTS NOT DIETS!” and “I BELIEVE IN THE RADICAL POSSIBILITIES OF PLEASURE, BABE.”
There are those who are—or were—tempted not to take Puff's Outlaws seriously, but Puff and her crew have been setting them straight, displaying their willingness to do just about whatever it takes to do just about whatever they please. The Outlaws stick together, say they value justice, are about as patient as a glacier when it comes to getting their way, give it to people straight, and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty if that's what they think it's going to take. They are school mercenaries of the worst possible sort—mercenaries with principles.

Desdemona “Puff” Vittersly

At 14 years old, Puff is actually the second youngest member of the Outlaws, and the group's founder and ringleader. During her second year at Hogwarts, she became convinced that Hufflepuff needed a radical makeover, and that she was the one to bring it about. She wrangled a few older students into helping her, and they became the Outlaws. Puff is intelligent and generally patient, but blunt and at times quite Machiavellian.

Nadia “OTB” Bakadak

One-Tough-Broad—OTB or Broad, for short—is the Outlaws' second in command. She is 16 years old, and has a personality comparable to a tank or a bulldozer. She was one of the first students to jump on Puff's bandwagon. She is the Outlaws' resident British John Wayne.

Katarine “Wild Kard” Wéla

Wild Kard, or simply K for short, is the only American in the group. In a crowd of wild ones, she is easily the wildest. Most of the 15-year-old's brain appears to be consumed by a desire to be snowboarding, and though she probably wouldn't turn down a chance to be on the quidditch team, her preferred sport is football, or soccer as she insists upon calling it. Kard can be unpredictable and even the Outlaws describe her as a loose cannon, but you'll never hear them complain about it. For her loudness, her sporadicness, and her constant attempts to be the hero, she is generally cheerful, good-natured, and generous.

Admus “COD” Andalusian

COD, nicknamed for his ferocious gaming addiction, is on a perpetual mission to get his XBOX Genesis6 to work within the barrier that prevents muggle technology from functioning on school grounds. At 15 years old, he is already one of the best wizards in Hufflepuff, and certainly one of the top year 5 wizards at Hogwarts. He is brilliant with technology and quite clever at adapting magical devices to do the jobs of muggle gadgets the way muggle gadgets do those jobs. While he is mellower than most of his fellow Outlaws, he has the personality of a Game Grump and can become very animated if something strikes him the right way.

Farble “Falco” Ghearm

Like OTB, sixteen-year-old Falco was one of the original Outlaws. Kard gave him his nickname after she joined them, seeing in him a resemblance to the late German rock singer of the 1980s. Falco is nearly Kard's rival for unpredictability and loudness. He and Kard have similar personalities, although were Kard is consumed by skiing and sports, Falco is extremely passionate about the Dark Arts. He is more prone to boastfulness than the others, but underneath his bravado, he plays an almost fatherly role for some of the younger Outlaws. He is also one of the few, if not the only, Hufflepuffs for whom Slytherins have respect, albeit grudgingly.

Dradin “Mozambin” Mosely

At 15 years old, Mozambin—or Moze—is perhaps the brightest and most studious of the Outlaws. He is also the quietest, eternally relaxed to the point of apparent boredom, and a constant source of strange, almost ethereal notions, all of which won him his nickname. He is Puff's rival for Machiavellian tendencies, Falco's rival in the dark arts, COD's rival for technological understanding, and OTB's rival for obstinate determination, even though he isn't known to move much or do much of anything. He also has an enormous appetite, and will sometimes spend the hours between meals contemplating past and future meals in order to hold himself over until his next opportunity to eat. He once requested a time turner so that he could return to meals and eat them again. The house elves periodically hold emergency meetings to figure out how to keep up with his appetite. Nevertheless, he is and remains thin as rail.

Dragoslava “Dragon” Osvajaci

The youngest member of the Outlaws, 13-year old Dragon is a Serbian exchange student who found her way to Hogwarts and Hufflepuff thanks to Puff. Dragon, or "Drag” for short, was Puff's pen pal for some years, and upon coming to Hogwarts, she specifically asked the Sorting Hat to place her in Hufflepuff, unequivocally refusing when the Hat wanted to put her in Gryffindor. She is the softest spoken of the Outlaws and is often quite reserved, though she also seems to fit right in with the Outlaws in her own, quiet way. It is clear that she adores them and equally clear that they adore her, which makes her a poor choice of prey for bullying, given what the Outlaws are reputedly willing to do for one of their own.
