Septimius Prince

Septimius was born on February 14th, 1978...18 years after his brother Severus. It had come as quite a shock to Septimius' older brother when Eileen informed him of the impending birth of a little brother, especially since she had divorced his abusive father Tobias. Septimius was the result of a one-night stand Eileen had with pureblood wizard whom she had always admired. Eileen had slipped a love potion into his drink in the pub, resulting in the breakage of the man's marriage. He had been so incensed at her deception, that he refused to ever see her again, despite the fact that she had been impregnated with his child...which had been Eileen's plan the whole time. The child in her womb being a pureblood, Eileen decided to give birth to the child; however, her anger at the fact that her plans to ensnare the father had failed, Eileen had very little to do with the child.

Septimius spent the first 10 years of his life in extreme solitude at Spinner's End. He knew of a brother, but had never met him. Severus would have been graduating the year he was born. By the time Septimius turned 11, Severus had begun as Potions master at Hogwarts, and he was eager to begin a new relationship with his sibling. Septimius would be severely disappointed by this hope. Jealous of his brother's pureblood status, Severus completely ignored him, refusing to even acknowledge the boy as his brother. Despite Septimius' efforts, Severus treated him just as he would any other student...in and out of Potions. Dismissed by his brother, and desperate for friends, Septimius began to strive for a way to cope. He began to act as the class clown, making jokes, and partaking in pranks. Though often times his humor came off as a little dry, his efforts had the desired effect and Septimius began to make a few friends....though he would always strive to be noticed by his older brother. Septimius even joined the Death Eaters and was branded by Lord Voldemort in an effort to be acknowledged by Severus. Had his older brother paid Septimius some attention, he may have never joined Voldemort's supporters. The fact that Septimius had become a Death Eater, only drove Severus farther away from his younger sibling.

When Severus was killed by Voldemort, it caused Septimius to go around the bend a bit. On the one hand, he was devastated that he had lost a brother whom he would never know....on the other, it relieved a great weight upon his shoulders because there was no longer an older brother that he felt the need to try and impress.
